    • Drones used to assess carbon capture of forests to bolster carbon offset markets

Pachama makes reforestation profitable for people who plant and maintain trees by tapping into the carbon offset markets. One key barrier to unlocking the value of carbon credits for farmers and forestkeepers is the ability to verify how much carbon is sequestered in an area.

Pachama has combined drones with machine learning in order to fly above forests and provide accurate reporting of their carbon capture. The company also uses satellite imagery to monitor the growth of forest projects to ensure visibility and accuracy.

    • What will climate feel like in your city 60 years from now?

This mapping tool shows how the climate of individual cities will change by 2080. There are two simulated scenarios: continuing on the current track with high emissions and "what if we reduce emissions?"

@Sam-Steyer Hey Sam, that's good thinking -- I'll send Climate TRACE over to Diego (Pachama founder). But in some terribly sad news, Diego lives in the Santa Cruz hills and his house burned down last week in the fires. He wrote a hopeful piece about rising from the ashes and being even more motivated to scale up Pacahama: https://medium.com/@dsaezgil/on-losing-everything-to-the-climate-crisis-except-for-hope-21df87ef8c07
