    • RE: Coming to the end of 2019, which of these predictions are coming true?

not sure about the rest, but it seems like with govt incentives on electric vehicles winding down - they are settling into an adoption curve that is coming back down to earth. That's actually a good thing though! EVs need to be financially competitive without subsidies in order to affect wide scale change

@Kevin-Qi Nice work Kevin! Agreed the copy could use some work but the value is there.

Here is the NCEI Data Service API User Documentation if it helps!

    • RE: Insects as a Sustainable Food Source

@nicwaller the caveat here is that insects as a food source are still an improvement on meat consumption. Compared to eating only plants maybe you're right but the majority of the planet eats a lot of meat

    • RE: How do we get off carbon-based energy fast?

@Eric-Chaves thanks for these sources, they're super interesting. I almost feel like each one could spur its own discussion or thread. I'm specifically interested in the LCOE for storage tech. Realistically, how do the cost curves of storage +wind/solar look when compared to the conventional alternatives? I feel like that will decide when the transition will really start in earnest

I mean this is an interesting one we're using right now. I've also seen Climate Colab out of MIT which is a bit more contest focused

    • RE: Reduce clothes drying by 30-50% with this one simple trick...

@jamiroquai very cool. I guess it goes without saying that using a clothesline to air dry is the best eco-choice but this is a nice alternative in the winter months. I wonder about the materials used in the dryer balls themselves... how sustainable might those be?
