Search engine that helps clean oceans and is hydro-powered
Ekoru ( www.ekoru.org ) is a search engine alternative to Google which uses its revenue to clean our oceans.
Our servers are all powered by hydro-electricity, so every search is eco-friendly too.
Please take a look, and happy to hear your feedback or thoughts.
If you like it please use it and let peers and colleagues know about it. If you wanted to Tweet or write about it we'd be thrilled.
Here's a Youtube video explaining the service: https://youtu.be/bGQgI-dRoSw

@AlisonL Thanks for sharing your project and welcome to the community! Ekoru sounds really interesting and I love the environmental mission
I've seen and used search engines like ecosia before, what would you recommend for someone who wants to support both? Also think having extensions into different browsers are crucial though it looks like you've already built some.
One idea might be making your financials a bit more transparent if possible, people want to know exactly how their use of the product translates to real impact. Great job overall though!
@Eric-Vanular Hi, Eric, thanks for checking Ekoru out! I would say to people who want to support both - do! Use both search engines equally. Or alternate months.
We do plan to make our financials transparent once we have full reports. Bear in mind that we are new. Thanks for the feedback!
@AlisonL this is a really interesting project! What amount of search volume have you seen so far?
@Sam-Hughes Thanks! We're pretty new so our numbers are not voluminous at the moment, however, we hope to spread the word and get more users which will mean more revenue for our partners.
